6 MONTHS of 2012

NEW STAFF

We welcomed two new members to the sales team in May. K.Neung (left) joins us from Bangkok where she was heading a team of sales staff in BKK airport, and K.Yuth (right) comes to us with experience in the construction-supply business here in Phuket.
Both have started with a good sales month in May and we look forward to their continued success with the Company.
 
 
INTERNET SPEEDS
AN UPDATE

We occasionally get asked by our Internet customers why other providers are offering higher bandwidth at advertised lower prices the Island Technology. We explain that it is important to understand exactly what is being offered/supplied and to make accurate comparisons.

Many ISP (Internet Service Providers) advertising consumer Internet packages do not tell customers that the speeds only refer to 'domestic' internet traffic. They do not/will not guarantee speeds for international traffic. And with more and more customers streaming and downloading from international servers it is important to know exactly what you would be getting for international bandwidth. Many ISPs will not come clean on this because they are keen to promote only domestic bandwidth numbers. Also, you need to check how many other users are sharing the same bandwidth. Whilst you may think you have 10mb or more, in reality you will have very much less due to widespread sharing of bandwidth. The advertised bandwidth is therefore only a theoritical maximum.

So what about our service? Our dedicated leased-line internet gives guaranteed domestic and international bandwidth, you are not sharing, and you get a reliable service with great backup and response from our 24/7 on-call support service. We will even help to configure your devices inside your property to ensure everything is working well. Other ISPs will only be interested in the signal to your property but generally will not help you with equipment inside the building.
