The Regent Phuket
Cape Panwa takes
delivery of 129 iPads. GM Brice Borin tells us that they will be used as in-room information and communication devices, doing away with the traditional room directory. They will also be used in the restaurant as the wine list and or many other hotel services using technology rather than traditional media. Good luck Regent with your Opening Event ! |

Phuket International Academy (PIA) take delivery of 37 new iPads and MacBook Pro laptops to extend their in-class resources throughout the school. According to IT teacher Marcus Wetherall “we firmly believe that Apple's marriage of hardware and software presents the best opportunity for students to empower their learning and creativity across our school curriculum”. Students at PIA use iPads and MacBooks throughout their daily classroom life. Amongst the iPad's almost unlimited possibilities, the Early Years and Junior School students explore new concepts using the internet, create digitally hand-paint artwork using Brushes, create and deliver presentations with Keynote, film and edit short films in iMovie, and read engaging interactive storybooks. Middle and Senior school students benefit from a one-to-one MacBook programme which facilitates comprehensive ICT integration into the high school curriculum. |

UPDATING OUR
INFRASTRUCTURE
ACROSS PHUKET August/September has seen a lot of activity with significant improvements to our internet infrastructure. Working with UIH Thailand there has been major investment in providing new and replacement Fibre Optic cabling in Phuket in order to give a better internet service to our customers. The internet service will be even better because we are increasing the amount of higher capacity F/O infrastructure which will mean we can offer corporate-style internet to all customers, large and small and at competitive rates. The difference between 'consumer' internet and 'corporate' is important and the latter provides a far greater stability of carrrier and more importantly much better speeds, especially for international download/upload. If you would like to know more
about these differences and how they could benefit you, and how we
structure our internet services compared to other providers please
click here and we will send you the
information leaflet.
